Frequent questions
Your questions, answered calmly.
From the first phone call to the question of costs: what families ask us most often, sorted by topic, with straight answers.
Getting started & first consultation
The first step is a conversation; everything else grows from there.
We listen: your situation, your home, your questions. Then, during a personal home visit, we work out together which services and benefit routes fit your situation.
No. A phone call is all it takes to start. We go through any helpful documents together afterwards, at your pace.
We are at home in Barsbüttel and on the road in Hamburg and the surrounding area.
By phone at 040 302 389 46 (Monday to Friday, 9:00–16:00), by e-mail at info@engelpflegedienst.com or via WhatsApp.
Services
What we do, and how the different benefit routes fit together.
Basic care under SGB XI, medical care under SGB V, household support, companionship and relief, respite care, advisory visits under § 37 (3) SGB XI, and support and guidance for relatives.
Basic care supports everyday life under SGB XI: personal hygiene, dressing, nutrition and mobilisation. Medical care under SGB V covers clinical services such as medication, injections, blood pressure and blood sugar checks or wound care, as prescribed by a physician.
Shopping, cleaning of agreed living areas, laundry and other household tasks, so everyday life keeps running and energy is left for what matters.
A mandatory advisory visit for recipients of care allowance, meant as support rather than an inspection of family caregivers. We carry out these visits and advise you personally.
Costs & care insurance
Clarity before any decision: what the first consultation costs and how care can be financed.
Nothing. The initial consultation is free and non-binding. Its purpose: understand your situation and work out together which support fits.
It depends on the benefit route: basic care usually runs through the care insurance fund under SGB XI, while medical care is billed to the health insurance fund under SGB V on a physician's prescription (as of July 2026). Which routes are open to you is something we clarify during the home visit.
For many care insurance benefits, a care level is the prerequisite (as of July 2026). Whether a care level exists or should be applied for is something we assess together with you; this orientation does not replace legal or social counselling.
For relatives
Those who care for others need support themselves. These answers are for you.
Yes. We provide orientation on care levels, benefit routes and organising care, and ease the load with companionship and respite care. This does not replace legal or social counselling.
Temporary replacement care when a family caregiver is unavailable or simply needs a break. We take over so that nothing at home comes to a standstill.
Time, attention and everyday companionship for the person who needs care, and free hours for those otherwise there around the clock.
